OFF TO THE RACES

I don’t want to write a long, heartfelt paragraph for it to be overlooked and ignored. I know it’s hard to pay attention to words sometimes on tumblr, so I’m going to make this as short and sweet as possible.

PLEASE check out my kickstarter for the senior thesis film I’m working on. If you like any of the following things, then you’ll love this film:

  • Cool independent filmmakers.
  • Doing what you love even if you aren’t earning enough $$$ doing it.
  • Feeling good.
  • Piggy back rides.
  • A good story.

Spread the word and donate!!!

I LOVE songs that you re-discover. This song was my jam in high school. My friends and I would listen to it every time we went to water polo practice. I feel like I haven’t heard it in years, but I still love it just as much.

American Girls by Homie (sung by Rivers Cuomo)

I LOVE New Year’s Eve.

I don’t care if you rang in the new year at a party or alone, sober or drunk, all that matters is the reflection in your mind for the previous year, and the ambition you should feel for the future.

New Year’s Eve is a time to humbly remember you’ve made it another year, and time is only moving forward, so make it count.

It’s also a time to watch the Twilight Zone. And to shamelessly kiss anyone in sight. And to wear funny hats. And, most importantly, to giggle. 2012 always seemed like the year that was so out of reach, yet here it is.

2012 will be a supernova.

I love City Sports. I really do. But working there really enhances the absurdity that is relationships in life. This past summer I saw 17 of my coworkers leave to go elsewhere. St. Louis, Miami, Austin, California, D.C. I grow so close to some of them, and then they leave and that’s it. Really makes you think about the relationships you hold now, and if they will last. At least I have such fond memories with so many of my now almost-forgotten-but-still-adored friends.

Also, working retail sucks.

So much time has passed since we’ve used this blog…

The little write-ups need to be changed around quite a bit.

Dexter is a show unique in one very specific way. One becomes the main character when watching the show. Suddenly we lose emotions and gain a sense of justification in murder, even though it is murder. The opening credits tell an entire story of who Dexter is as a man. It paints the picture clearly.
New York Magazine does a great job elaborating on this idea.
